How I got started in User Experience
A young engineer who joined Tata Consultancy Services just two years ago was sitting for her review meeting discussing her plans of progress with the manager. "Swati, you helped with the pharmacy application and improved its user experience. Why don't you pursue it further?"
It was the first time I heard UX as a term but as I look back, I had spent most of my time simplifying user journeys and making user experiences better.
Next, I knew what I wanted to do, took a leap of faith and here I am pursuing my master's in Human Centered Design and Engineering at the prestigious University of Washington!

What I've been working on
I am currently working with SoundTransit as a UX researcher helping them make at-grade crossings safer and prevent fatal accidents. As a UX designer, I lead their website redesign and experiment with them to reduce their in-office footfall and increase online traffic.
I love working with diverse user groups and currently conducting research to help test products with kids from the age range of 5-8. Recently, I worked for an AI startup to understand how well AI is understood by its users.
I focus on both UX Research and Design related projects expanding my expertise and deepening my learning of how a UX journey looks from end to end.
What I'm curious about
AH!! Difficult question but it is everything that has users.
Currently, I am exploring unconventional and growing areas like the Entertainment and Media Industry including Gaming.
But as an engineer, my first love is keeping up with Technology and would love every chance to work closely with engineers. I help them bridge the gap between users and businesses.
